i3 is pleased to announce Robert Willis joined the company as Director of Aerospace and International Technologies on August 1, 2014. In announcing the addition of Mr. Willis to the i3 team, Michael Wicks, Chief Executive Officer, said, “Rob’s technical expertise, diverse military background, international experience, and consummate professionalism reflect the high caliber of talent we seek at i3.” Before joining i3, Mr. Willis was the Defense Cooperation Attaché and Commander of RDECOM ITC-France at the US Embassy in Paris, implementing innovative international technology transfer. From June 2008 to May 2010, Mr. Willis was the Commander of the US Army Aviation Flight Test Directorate, where he gained extensive experience in management and operations of military acquisition programs, including state-of-the-art aviation, ISR and survivability programs.

Mr. Willis retired from the United States Army in 2014 after 23 years of service. He is a Combat Veteran who has held multiple Leadership, Flight Test, and Staff Positions as an Experimental Test Pilot and Master Army Aviator of rotary- and fixed-wing aircraft and systems. Mr. Willis graduated from the University of Virginia where he received his Bachelor of Science, Aerospace Engineering. He went on to complete Master’s degrees at both the University of Virginia in Systems Engineering and the Naval War College in National Security and Strategic Studies.
