Chief Executive Officer
Mike co-founded i3 and serves as its CEO. As a fifth-generation native of Huntsville, Mike has enjoyed a successful career as both a US Army civilian and as a DoD contractor providing government services to Redstone Arsenal (RSA). In 1984 he began work as a mechanical engineer with the US Army Aviation and Missile Command at RSA. Mike holds a BSME (Summa Cum Laude, 1987) from Auburn University as well as a Masters of Engineering (Summa Cum Laude, 1993) from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
He co-founded Summit Research Corporation in 2001 and served as its President and CEO until being acquired by Digital Fusion Solutions, Inc. (DFSI), a public-traded technology company, in 2005. At DFI, Mike went on to serve as Executive VP of Research & Engineering, COO, and ultimately became its President in 2008. DFSI was acquired by publicly-traded Kratos Defense and Security Solutions in 2008 and he was appointed VP and GM of the DFSI Division. In cooperation with Kratos, Mike transitioned back to his small business roots in April 2009 as CEO of newly-founded i3 to continue “growing people and solving the nation’s toughest problems.”
At i3, Mike and the i3 leadership team strive to create a positive environment that enriches the lives of our team members through a commitment to excellence, with the intent to identify emerging needs, encourage innovation, and make a meaningful impact on our Nation, its allies, and our community. i3 specializes in advanced hypersonics systems, virtual training, C4ISR, and cyber & systems engineering.
He and his wife, Christine, have five children and reside in Huntsville, AL.
